Bauer Traditional Vintage Archtop

This is a very fine example of a Handmade German Archtop Guitar. Not sure of exact date but would have been made in the 50's. Note its centre small third sound hole. This guitar has quite a lot in common with the Ibanez Salvador or the same vintage.

Description: This is a very fine example of a Handmade German Archtop Guitar. Not sure of the exact date it was made but it would have been made in the 50's. Note its centre small third sound hole. I have seen other German guitars like this from the 40's & 50's. This guitar has quite a lot in common with the Ibanez Salvador of the same vintage. You can see how the Japanese copied or got a lot of their ideas from Europe. The sound is very full, big and bright. Amazing sound for a guitar of its age. I think the extra sound hole dispersers the sound out of the guitar. Lots of our contempory makers seem to be taking advantage of the multiple sound hole approach today. It just goes to show nothing is really new it just comes redressed and we hope for the better.
